Recruitment

Our deputies make up the backbone of our law
enforcement efforts. They are sworn to enforce the
laws of the county and the state, and to lead the
county with courage, integrity, and compassion.

We have multiple divisions, each with different specialties.

Patrol Division – our regular patrol shifts answer calls for service, enforce traffic laws, and provide high-visibility policing to the county.

Power Shift – our power shift deputies specialize in warrant service. They collect intelligence on where fugitives are hiding, and they take persons with arrest warrants into custody.

Criminal Investigations Division – these experienced officers provide in-depth investigation into criminal matters. They find and collect evidence and help in the prosecution of suspects.

School Resource Officers – these deputies serve in the county schools, helping to provide security for students and staff, as well as providing assistance and intelligence to other divisions. They also serve in a proactive, community-based role, helping solve problems in their districts.

Corrections Officers – our corrections deputies work to ensure a safe, sanitary, and secure detention facility for the county. They treat inmates with respect and dignity and enforce the rules of the county jail in a fair manner.
