Investigators with the Carter County Sheriff’s Office have identified two persons who are dead in connection with a shooting that took place Thursday morning.
40-year-old Lori Elliott and 40-year-old Corey Montez Bryson were both fatally injured in the shooting which happened at a residence on Jim Rains Road. Elliott was found dead at the scene, and Bryson died after being taken to the hospital.
Investigators are actively working to determine how and why the shooting occurred. Both bodies have been sent to the ETSU Quillen College of Medicine for autopsy. The Sheriff’s Office will provide more information as it becomes available and as appropriate.
