Two Arrested on Meth Charges in a School Zone

Carter County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two people Wednesday near Hampton High School for possession of narcotics.

34-year-old Tabitha Jo Drummond and 34-year-old Justin David Drummond were taken into custody after deputies found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in their car during a traffic stop. A deputy initiated the stop after he recognized the people in the car as narcotics suspects and found that the vehicle had a license plate that was registered to a car with a different description.

Tabitha Drummond and Justin Drummond are both charged with Possession of a Schedule II substance for resale and Possession in a Drug Free School Zone. Tabitha Drummond is additionally charged with Driving on a Suspended License.

Both suspects are being held in the Carter County Detention Center. Justin Drummond is being held on a $10,000 bond, and Tabitha Drummond is being held on an $11,000 bond.
