January 7th, 2016 at 7:07 PM Carter County Deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at a home located at 124 Edgewater Road in the Valley Forge Community of Carter County.  Upon arrival at the residence, Officers found Jeffery “Colt” Calloway with what appeared to be one (1) stab wound in the chest lying in the floor just inside the front door of the home.  Polly Calloway, Colt’s wife, reported that Jacob Buckles and Roger Morrison came to the home to collect a debt and an argument ensued.  Polly reported that Jacob stabbed Colt in the chest with a sword.  She further stated that Roger Morrison drove Jacob Buckles away from the scene in a rust colored Ford Maverick. She believed that they were headed toward a residence on Fairview Street in the Eastside Community of Elizabethton.  Officers of the Elizabethton Police Department discovered a Ford Maverick in a driveway at 1005 Fairview Street.  As Officers approached the residence, Jacob Buckles and Roger Morrison exited the home and met them in the front yard where they were detained without incident.  “Colt” Calloway was transported by the Carter County Rescue Squad to the Sycamore Shoals Hospital where he died shortly after arrival.  Buckles and Morrison were transported to the Carter County Sheriff’s Office.

Jacob Buckles has been charged with Second Degree Murder and Roger Morrison has been charged with Accessory after the fact for the murder of Jeffery “Colt” Calloway.
