Multiple auto burglaries solved after Investigators execute Search Warrant

Multiple auto burglaries solved after Investigators execute Search Warrant at Hampton residence.

On February 1, 2017, Investigators from the Carter County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence located at 197 Browns Branch Road in Hampton, Tennessee.  The warrant was written following an investigation into multiple auto burglaries in the Rittertown Road area between January 24, 2017 and January 31, 2017.  Numerous items taken in the burglaries included clothing, power tools, a chain saw, gift cards, and approximately $1,000.00 in assorted jewelry items.

Upon execution of the search warrant at the Browns Branch Road address, many of the items reported stolen were recovered.  Upon discovering the items in the home, Investigators arrested one of the residents, identified as Jeremy Sanderlin.  Sanderlin was transported to the Carter County Sheriff’s Office where he agreed to speak with Investigators.  During the interview with Sanderlin, he gave a confession in which he admitted to committing the crimes.  Sanderlin was recently paroled from a Tennessee Prison in November of 2016 after serving a sentence stemming from similar thefts which occurred in the Stoney Creek community in 2014.

Sanderlin is currently being held in the Carter County Jail on a $19,500.00 bond.
