UPDATE: The corpse found at Carver’s Gap has been identified as 53-year-old David Ladley Swanson, a resident of North Carolina. The victim’s family has been notified. We are working to determine a cause of death, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
Deputies with the Carter County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a body that was found in the Carver’s Gap area Monday.
Investigators were notified of the male body’s discovery around 2 p.m. They are working to determine the man’s identity and what caused his death. The body will be sent for an autopsy. More information will be released as it becomes available.
